Self-Care

Argan oil is a versatile and highly beneficial oil that has been used for centuries in Morocco and is now becoming increasingly popular around the world. This oil, which is extracted from the kernels of the argan tree, is known for its moisturizing, nourishing, and anti-aging properties. It can be used in a variety of ways, including on the skin, hair, and nails, and is a popular ingredient in many beauty and personal care products. In this article, we will explore the many uses and benefits of argan oil, and provide tips on how to incorporate it into your daily routine.

The Many Uses of Argan Oil

NOTE: If you use a second moisturizer in addition to Thrive Argan Oil™, such as face or body lotion, its always better to apply Thrive Argan Oil™ first, under the other lotion.

Face Moisturizer

Thrive Argan Oil™ can be applied at any time of day. Put just a few drops into your hand(s) and gently rub fingers over your face. Use enough to thinly cover. Thrive Argan Oil™ is a very small molecule which will be absorbed by your skin.

Body Moisturizer

Thrive Argan Oil™ can be applied directly to your skin anywhere, or mixed with your favorite lotion. Another option (to reduce the amount used) is to mix with a carrier oil, such as olive, coconut, or sesame. Thrive Argan Oil™ is also great for softening the bottoms of feet. If you use it on the bottoms of your feet, Thrive recommends you put on socks so you don’t slip.

Skin Toner

Mix Thrive Argan Oil™ with skin-friendly ingredients like Rose Water, Orange Blossom Water, or Green Tea to improve skin toning. Add a few drops to your daily skin toner or apply the mixture directly to your face and neck. Experiment with different toning ingredients to find what works best for you.

Razor Burn

A few drops of Thrive Argan Oil™ can be applied directly to the affected area. A little goes a long way. On your first application, use just a small amount on extra-sensitive areas, to make sure your skin likes it.

Exfoliant

Thrive Argan Oil™ can be mixed with various base ingredients to create a personalized exfoliant. Brown sugar and different types of flour, like chickpea flour, are popular options. Use a base that suits your skin, and start with a small amount of baking soda if desired, as it may irritate some skin types. Use gentle to medium pressure and avoid over-scrubbing to avoid damaging your skin.

Acne Assistance

To help repair damaged skin, apply a small amount of Thrive Argan Oil™ directly to the affected area, with clean fingertips. Alternately, mix with a disinfecting oil, such as Tea Tree. However, please note that Tea Tree oil can irritate some skin types, especially sensitive skin.

Hair

Thrive Argan Oil is a highly beneficial oil for hair due to its rich composition of essential fatty acids, antioxidants, and vitamins. Thrive Argan Oil is packed with natural moisturizers, such as vitamin E. It helps to deeply hydrate and nourish the hair.

Start with clean, damp hair. Dry hair works, but damp hair allows for better absorption. Rub a few drops of Thrive Argan Oil between your palms to warm it up. Gently run your hands through your hair, from mid-lengths to the ends. Focus on the areas that need the most hydration or suffer from dryness or damage. Use a comb if desired.

Style your hair as usual. Argan oil is lightweight and non-greasy, so it won’t weigh down your hair. However, don’t over-apply argan oil. Start with a small amount and add more if needed.

Stretch Marks

Apply Thrive Argan Oil™ directly to the abdomen, thighs, hips, buttock and other areas. Note that all oils may leave a slight residue on sheets or clothing if they are in direct contact. If this is a concern, allow the oil to absorb into the skin before making direct contact. Apply as much as your skin wants to absorb. If there is a slight excess that’s not absorbed, simply wipe off with a warm washcloth.

Lip Conditioner

Argan oil is rich in essential fatty acids and vitamin E, which help to hydrate and moisturize the lips. It can provide deep nourishment to dry, chapped lips, restoring their softness and smoothness.

Ensure your lips are clean and free from any lip balm or lipstick. You can gently exfoliate your lips using a soft toothbrush or a lip scrub to remove dead skin cells. Take a small amount of argan oil onto your fingertip or a clean cotton swab. Gently apply the argan oil to your lips, spreading it evenly. Massage the oil into your lips using circular motions to enhance absorption. Leave the oil on your lips to allow it to penetrate and provide its moisturizing effects.
